The veil is slowly lifting. As more and more of the scenery is revealed, an ugliness starts to show.

What once we thought was Heaven, is slowly but surely becoming Hell.

We thought we had it all. And we did. Could we see how precious it was? We exploited it, nourished forces we couldn’t control.

We should have known. Perhaps we always did?

But we couldn’t admit it, nobody wanted to say it out loud. Those who did, were ridiculed, or ignored. Accused of spreading fear. But it was we who allowed the fear to enter, to live among us.

We were given so much. Gems that form over millions of years, slowly transforming into things of exquisite beauty. But the harvest has become obscene, a gluttonous abomination. The decay we nurture permeates everything, until our world is inevitably lost to it.
